MWR seems pretty divisive. Obviously the campaign is great and a graphical improvement on the original. A lot of the community seems mixed on the multiplayer because the gameplay has come a long way since then and they didn't remove things that some players hated (overpowered noob tubes, Juggernaut, last stand etc.) 1.
GamesRadar+ - 4 / 5 stars. Modern Warfare is fast and frenetic, setting a new benchmark for fidelity and high-pressure FPS action. GamingTrend - Griffin Dunn - Unscored. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare hearkens back to the series roots, once again putting gritty themes and realism on the forefront.
I hope they do a good job of it, I like Tarkov and if it’s implemented correctly it’ll be massive. People love the feeling of having an item they can keep or sell on and it brings a whole new experience to how the game makes you feel. If you’ve played Tarkov and DayZ you’ll know what I mean by this feeling. 9.

TBH it's solely because of the multiplayer. There's no true competitor for its sub-niche of the FPS genre. Every shooter is now designed to be it's own niche genre now and people just aren't really making games with a CoD-like multiplayer. This leaves fans of the genre are stuck in an awkward situation.
I really don’t get the hate behind this game. I find the weapon leveling unique and allows you to use every weapon. The weapons also are extremely detailed and look fantastic and that goes for the whole game. But most importantly its extremely fun. And I don’t really don’t understand the hate behind cosmetics, they aren’t required to
From the article, "Modern Warfare 3 might be the most immediately sweaty Call of Duty I've played, though much of that impression could be laid on competitive-friendly updates to movement (more on that later). One week against the "movement kings" of Modern Warfare 3 has shown how minor changes to mobility can disrupt CoD's whole flow.
True. There are however people who have not played it, will see the mostly negative reviews- and will skip it. New customers, or even people who just aren't part of the different echochambers. I would say that’s a small number. Most casuals would say oh my friends are playing mw3 I’m gonna buy it to play.
Just played three hours of team deathmatch and I like that my character skins and weapons transferred over to this game, but this game reminds me of an iPhone upgrade - feels familiar, doesn’t have much difference from the previous game, and the maps are kinda meh. Here's my review: "The multiplayer is fun, but it should've been a free update.
