I picked up an Auto DVD (CD) player off Amazon but everything there seems to only support WMA format and won't work since that's not GM's supported file extension. It has no CD player and I’m looking to see the best option. I know it’s easiest to use phone/Apple car play but I want to use other option: Get a discman and buy an aux to usb cord. Would this work? The reviews for the few bluetooth CD players I've looked at say they play well with bluetooth speakers but are hit or miss with car audio systems. Would plain old external CD drives designed for PCs be recognized? I don't need/care about getting song info on the car display or controlling the CD from the car display, just that the music plays.
